Welcome to repeat, the blog created to fill an apparent gap in the blogosphere. repeat was dreamed up by two seeking art students who constantly find themselves combing through blogs and websites for sources of inspiration.
One fall day, while working on a design project, Emily was desperately trying to find compelling images of kimono prints. The image had to be large format and not appear as if it was taken solely to be posted on MySpace. Sounds pretty easy, right? Wrong. Sami tirelessly tried to help her reword her google search phrases as they repeatedly failed to find something suitable.
Out of frustration and defeated by failed attempts, they began throwing out ideas of a visual library in the form of a blog. A place where one could type in "Kimono Prints" and find fine Japanese silk patterns and not pictures of koi fish tattoos sprawled on some girl's back. A blog where someone could type in "Asian" or "Western" and thousands of high quality images would pop up in seconds. The images would be categorized and then specified further to hone in on precisely what was trying to be found. What a dream! A place to find well-organized images.
No longer worried about the lack of kimono image, the ecstatic students began jabbering about all the ideal features this future blog would one day have. Suddenly projects and finals seemed irrelevant. And voila! repeat was born right on their standard green plush dorm room couch.
The two students hope you enjoy perusing the systemically placed images. It is never their aim to steal images from others, just to simply organize print and patterns to make everyones' lives a little bit easier.
